Lena Winkler introduces herself as a traditionalist. Next she tells us she's in medical school, has children, and is in the process of getting a divorce. In spite of the recent unstablity in her childrens' lives she has kept one thing constant, "Sweet Friday." Sweet Friday is a tradition of having cakes and sweets on every Friday for a hour or less and talking about their week. Overtime friends and neighbors have become a staple in the celebration and in their lives due to this tradition.
I am personally a big fan of tradition and Sweet Friday is a great one. Everyone said that Lena Winkler is just trying to cover up her divorce and her family issues by shoving cake down her kids' throats, but that isn't her intention at all. She is simply trying to create happy memories for her children in a time where their lives are more complicated. When her kids look back they aren't going to think well that wasn't the smartest idea, I think they will love their memories they made and realize that Sweet Fridays were a great tradition that brought thier family closer together.
